The National City Fire Department's Fire Prevention Division conducts inspections for new businesses, tenant improvements, fire protection systems, operational permits, and other projects requiring Fire Department approval. To schedule an inspection, please follow the steps below.

Schedule an Appointment

Please contact the Fire Prevention Division at least 48 hours before your requested inspection date.

When scheduling your inspection, please provide:

• Project or business address
• Type of inspection requested (pre-inspection, final inspection, etc.)
• Fire protection system or project being inspected
• Contact name and phone number

Before Your Inspection

To help avoid delays, please ensure:

• All work has been completed.
• Approved plans are available, if required.
• Fire protection systems are operational.
• A responsible representative is present during the inspection.

Please do not request a final inspection until all work has been completed. Incomplete projects may require additional inspections and applicable reinspection fees.
