Protecting Lives, Property, and Our Community

The National City Fire Department's Fire Operations Division provides 24-hour emergency response services to protect the lives, property, and well-being of residents, businesses, and visitors throughout National City. Staffed by highly trained firefighters, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians, the Division responds to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, traffic collisions, and a wide variety of other emergency and non-emergency requests for service.

Operating from three strategically located fire stations, Fire Operations personnel are committed to delivering rapid, professional, and compassionate service whenever the community calls for help.

In addition to emergency response, Fire Operations personnel conduct ongoing training, participate in disaster preparedness and response activities, support public education programs, and maintain specialized skills and equipment to ensure readiness for any emergency.

Division Leadership

The Fire Operations Division is under the supervision of the on-duty Battalion Chief, who is responsible for coordinating daily emergency operations, overseeing personnel, managing resources, and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective emergency services throughout the city.

The Fire Operations Division consists of:

• (12) Captains
• (9) Engineers
• (18) Firefighters
• (1) EMS Coordinator

Together, these dedicated professionals provide emergency response coverage 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
