Learn to Save a Life

Severe bleeding can become life-threatening within minutes.  Before emergency responders arrive, the actions of a nearby bystander can make the difference between life and death.

Stop the Bleed® is a nationally recognized public education program that teaches individuals how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take immediate action until professional medical help arrives.

No medical experience is required. Anyone can learn these lifesaving skills.

Why Stop the Bleed Matters

Uncontrolled bleeding is one of the leading causes of preventable death after traumatic injuries.  Whether the injury results from a vehicle collision, workplace accident, natural disaster, recreational activity, or other emergency, immediate intervention can save lives.

The Stop the Bleed program empowers ordinary citizens to become immediate responders during those critical first minutes before emergency personnel arrive.

What You'll Learn

Participants receive hands-on instruction in lifesaving techniques, including:

  • Recognizing life-threatening bleeding
  • Applying direct pressure
  • Proper wound packing techniques
  • Correct use of tourniquets
