We are cancelling the Community Breakfast and postponing the NC Gets Active “Animal Encounter” for this Saturday, March 14, 2020 in light of the World Health Organization (WHO) declaration of a pandemic for coronavirus (COVID 19). This declaration was issued in order to increase awareness and all prevention efforts to limit the spread of the virus. I want to assure you that the City of National City is closely monitoring the situation. While there are currently no confirmed cases in National City, we know this could change over time. Please know the health and well-being of our community remains our top priority.
We are exploring options to reschedule the NC Gets Active “Animal Encounter” and will honor those who are currently registered. All registered participants will receive an email from the City once the date and location have been confirmed.
The City’s Emergency Management office continues to work closely and maintain consistent communication with our local lead agency, San Diego Health & Human Services Agency. San Diego County has a Coronavirus webpage with current information, frequently asked questions, and informational videos answering common questions and concerns about COVID-19 and we’ve created a direct link from the Fire Department homepage which also includes additional safety information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding we will continue to work with our public health partners to provide you with the latest guidance and actions you can take to support a healthy community

About the Neighborhood Council Program
Quarterly Community Breakfast meetings are held in the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center with the purpose to increase quality engagement and create tools to provide transparent information to and from the public in a timely manner. Agenda topics are driven by resident requests, current events, and a desire by the City to keep residents informed on new programs and upcoming developments. Registration is required because space is limited. All members attending the Community Breakfast including children must be registered using our online registration system: www.joinnatcity.com.
Time is set aside in each meeting (after the breakfast presentations) so that residents may bring up issues of concern. Meetings are usually attended by the Mayor and Council along with City Staff from the City Manager's Office, Code Enforcement, Police and Fire officials, Community Services, Engineering & Public Works and others as schedules allow.
