The City of National City's Engineering & Public Works Department seeks Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from interested consultant firms to provide on-call project support services for National City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and other professional services. Disciplines are listed under Section III "Scope of Services."

About Contract & Consulting Bid Opportunities

The City of National City ("City") contract and consulting bid opportunities follow the City's Municipal Code Sections Title 2 Chapter 2.60 Public Contracts and Purchasing System and Title 4 Revenue and Finance. Each department is responsible bidding and contract process. Below are a few departments who utilize a procurement platform called PlanetBids.

Engineering and Public Works post all of Construction Bids on PlanetBids. Licensed contractors must register in order to qualify to bid. As a registered vendor with the City of National City, you will be notified of bid alerts, be able to download plans and specs, view published addenda, submit bids electronically, and view bid results. At any time, you may view the latest contracting opportunities available. As of July 1, 2014, contractors are required to register with the Department of Industrial Relations before bidding on public works contracts in California.
- Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act: The City of National City has adopted the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Act by Ordinance No. 2016-2413, § 1, 10-4-2016 and is subject to the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission procedures for the bidding and awarding of public works contracts. The City of National City invites California licensed contractors that wish to be included on the City's list of qualified contractors for contracts less than $220,000 to complete the application form in the link below. Complete the required information on the form and submit the form via email to engineering@nationalcityca.gov. Finance and the Housing Authority also utilize PlanetBids for professional services, projects, programs, and housing development.
