General Plan topics to cover during this meeting include:
The Health and Environmental Justice Element seeks to improve public health and well being equally for all segments of the population (regardless of race, culture, age, and income) through the design of the built environment and meaningful public participation. Topics include respiratory health and air quality; surrounding land uses; physical activity and its links to heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and stress and depression; access to healthy food; access to health care; and lead-based paint hazards.

The Noise and Nuisance Element identifies and assesses noise problems and includes policies to protect the community from excessive noise. It also addresses common nuisances such as the accumulation of outdoor junk, trash, and debris; abandoned and dilapidated buildings; overgrown weeds and vegetation; noxious odors; mosquito or fly breeding places; light pollution and encroachments in the public right-of-way.

The Safety Element establishes goals and policies that work to protect the community from risks of injury, loss of life and property, and environmental damage associated with natural and manmade hazards such as wildfires, geologic and seismic hazards, flooding, hazardous materials, military installations, and brownfields. It also addresses crime and public safety facilities and services.
