DESCRIPTION:<h1 style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</h1><h1 style="text-align: center;">Learn about Federal and State laws regulating Cannabis and the City's proposed legislation.</h1><h2 align="left">The City of National City is seeking input from community members to guide the development of regulations for commercial cannabis businesses.&nbsp; The City Council has directed staff to develop a draft ordinance that could permit and regulate up to 3 commercial cannabis businesses within the City, which could include a combination of retailers, cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, microbusinesses and testing facilities.&nbsp; These businesses would only be allowed in the City’s designated Industrial Zones.&nbsp; Cannabis retailers would only be allowed as an accessory use (secondary use) in conjunction with cultivation, manufacturing or distribution.</h2><h2 align="left">Each business would be required to enter into a development agreement through which the business would agree to pay a Community Benefit Fee that would provide revenue to the City to address specified community needs.&nbsp; These benefits are yet to be defined and will be negotiated with each business as a part of their development agreement.</h2><h2 align="left">The City is seeking input from the community to help guide this process.&nbsp; Specifically, the City is seeking input on the following issues which would be addressed through regulations, development agreements and community benefit fees:</h2><h2 align="left">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Community impacts to be addressed through regulations</h2><h2 align="left">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Programs to be funded through community benefit fees</h2><h1 style="text-align: center;" align="left">There will be two opportunities to catch the presentation&nbsp;</h1><h1 style="text-align: center;" align="left">First presentation: 4:30pm</h1><h1 style="text-align: center;">Second presentation: 6:00pm</h1><h2 style="text-align: center;" align="left">Your opinion is important to us and we hope you can make it to our Cannabis Community Forum &amp; complete our <a href="https://www.nationalcityca.gov/government/city-manager/survey/-fsiteid-1" target="_blank">Community Survey</a> </h2><p style="text-align: center;" align="left">&nbsp;</p>
