Expanded Seating Areas on Private Property, Parking Lots, and City Sidewalks

In response to San Diego County Department of Health restrictions on indoor operations for certain business types, the City of National City has relaxed its regulations for outdoor dining, places of worship and personal services (gyms, salons, barbers, nail salons) with a streamlined application process with no fees.  We've made it quick and easy to apply, with no permit fees.  For more information and how to apply please click here.

  •  COVID-19 Temporary Outdoor Use (C-TOP) - private property or parking lot
  • Activate the Right of Way (AROW) - public right of way (City sidewalk)

Businesses with adjacent outdoor space may remain open provided operations are restricted to outdoor use only and comply with industry guidance, all state and federal laws, specific guidance for their industry and/or operations and submit a plan for approval on their outdoor operations.
