The City Council adopted the Housing Element Update of the General Plan on April 16, 2013.
The Housing Element is a state-mandated comprehensive strategy for promoting the production, preservation, and maintenance of affordable housing to meet current and future community housing needs. The Housing Element establishes goals, policies, and programs to address housing needs for an eight-year planning period (April 30 2013 to April 30, 2021).
Environmental Information: The City Council certified a Final Environmental Impact Report (SCH#2010051009) for the Comprehensive Land Use Update (General Plan Update, Land Use Code Update, et al) on June 7, 2011 pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The EIR adequately addresses the environmental and physical impacts that could occur with the adoption of the Housing Element Update.
