Permits and plan reviews can be obtained through the National City Fire Department by calling (619) 336-4550. In order to receive a permit, three (3) sets of plans must be submitted with the necessary contact information and appropriate payment amount based on type of permit described in the three categories below.
The Fire Marshal will review the plans and will either approve the plans for a permit or note corrections to be made to the plans. Upon final approval of the plans, a permit is issued to the client and the Fire Marshal conducts an inspection of the site. Under no circumstances should work be performed without a permit being issued. The whole process takes approximately 10 business days to complete.
