What We Do:

The City of National City employs Code Conformance Officers on a seven day workweek who enforce the City’s Municipal Code. Our staff is dedicated to providing timely service when it comes to our City’s appearance and Land Use Code.

Many citizens also contact the City with complaints that are civil in nature, such as a neighbor’s tree overhanging to another property or property line disputes. The City’s jurisdictional authority doesn’t allow involving itself with these issues or concerns.

Our most common violations include:

• Abandoned buildings
• Overgrown weeds and vegetation (FPS)
• Non-permitted vendors
• Business Licenses (Finance)
• Persons/business operating outside of intended use or prohibited use
• Abandoned residential properties
