"Our Community" E-Newsletter & City Guide

The City of National City has launched an E-Newsletter aimed at increasing the methods it uses to engage its residents. As one of the National City City Council’s top priorities, citizen engagement involves more than public participation at meetings and events. The use of technology provides a great number of opportunities to ensure residents have access to a wide range of tools and information in order to participate more fully in city affairs.

The E-Newsletter & City Guide will highlight information on community interests, events,  activities as well as update and report on major projects.

We are encouraging residents and interested individuals to sign up online for "Our Community".

CA Competes Tax Credits

CA Competes Tax Credits - January 4 -25, 2016 ($75M available)

Post Date:12/14/2015

The Governor’s office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) has announced that the next round of CA Competes Tax Credits applications will begin January 4, 2016. The final day to apply on-line for the credits will be January 25.  Up to $75M in tax credits will be available statewide for this upcoming round.

As you may already know, CA Competes is a State sponsored flexible tax credit program intended to promote job creation, business attraction, retention and expansion efforts in California.
CA Competes incentivizes businesses planning to move to CA; or expand existing business operations in the State. The program affords a unique opportunity for businesses in the San Diego region to capture valuable tax credits that can be leveraged against their State business income tax liability.

Over the past 18 months, several companies in the San Diego region have successfully secured tax credits through this program. These captured credits have provided these companies a direct cost savings that have translated into further business investments in the form of equipment and facility upgrades, new jobs, and higher employee wages.

For more information regarding CA Competes program, the online application process, or the GO-Biz office, please access the following link:

If you are interested in applying for this upcoming round of tax credits, or would like more information regarding the program, please feel free to contact my office.
